Woop woop! Second installment after a WHOLE YEAR of #StuckForABook! Bringing you the FIVE FABULOUS 5/5 REVIEWS from some absolutely awesome bloggers.
First up is a recommendation from the lovely Miss Amber from The Mile Long Bookshelf with a review of The Elites by Natasha Ngan:
“There is a rumour that the Elites don’t bleed…”
Hundreds of years into the future, wars, riots, resource crises and rising sea levels have destroyed the old civilisations. Only one city has survived: Neo-Babel, a city full of cultures – and racial tension. Fifteen-year-old Silver is an Elite, a citizen of Neo-Babel chosen to guard the city due to her superior DNA.
She’d never dream of leaving – but then she fails to prevent the assassination of Neo-Babel’s president, setting off a chain of events more shocking and devastating than she could have ever imagined. Forced to flee the city with her best friend Butterfly, Silver will have to fight to find her family, uncover the truth about Neo-Babel – and to survive.
“I spent all day reading this book and I don’t regret it at all. This was my reaction after completing the book, which caused my Mum to burst out laughing:”

Next up is a fantastic young adult contempory novel, Severed Heads, Broken Hearts by Robyn Schneider recommended and reviewed by Miss Arianne writing for Daisy Chain Book Reviews!
After witnessing his girlfriend in a “very friendly” position with a guy who is definitely not him, closely followed by a catastrophic car accident that shatters his leg along with his pro Tennis hopes, Ezra Faulkner returns to school for senior year, cast into social oblivion, a shadow of his former self. Ezra believes that everyone suffers a defining tragedy: it appears that his has just occurred.
But this new tragic self might have its own appeal, especially after he meets the clever, oddly sexy Cassidy Thorpe, a girl who launches him into a series of transformative adventures that help Ezra learn the truth about tragedy: unlike lightning, it can and will strike the same place twice.
“Filled with wit and humour, Severed Heads, Broken Hearts by Robyn Schneider is a brilliant reinvention of everything we think we know about the young adult contemporary genre.”

Brilliant Miss Charli from To Another World | Charli’s Book Blog reviewed and rated Arclight by Josin L. McQuien 5/5!
No one crosses the wall of light… except for one girl who doesn’t remember who she is, where she came from, or how she survived. The Arclight is the last defense. The Fade can’t get in. Outside the Arclight’s border of high-powered beams is the Dark. And between the Light and the Dark is the Grey, a narrow, barren no-man’s-land. That’s where the rescue team finds Marina, a lone teenage girl with no memory of the horrors she faced or the family she lost. Marina is the only person who has ever survived an encounter with the Fade. She’s the first hope humanity has had in generations, but she could also be the catalyst for their final destruction. Because the Fade will stop at nothing to get her back. Marina knows it. Tobin, who’s determined to take his revenge on the Fade, knows it. Anne-Marie, who just wishes it were all over, knows it. When one of the Fade infiltrates the Arclight and Marina recognizes it, she will begin to unlock secrets she didn’t even know she had. Who will Marina become? Who can she never be again?
“I hadn’t heard of it before; and I absolutely loved it. It’s intriguing, beautifully written and descriptive.”

John Green’s The Fault in our Stars was recommended by little Miss Emz from Icy Cold Reviews and I utterly agree with her 5/5 rating:
Diagnosed with Stage IV thyroid cancer at 13, Hazel was prepared to die until, at 14, a medical miracle shrunk the tumours in her lungs… for now.
Two years post-miracle, sixteen-year-old Hazel is post-everything else, too; post-high school, post-friends and post-normalcy. And even though she could live for a long time (whatever that means), Hazel lives tethered to an oxygen tank, the tumours tenuously kept at bay with a constant chemical assault.
Enter Augustus Waters. A match made at cancer kid support group, Augustus is gorgeous, in remission, and shockingly to her, interested in Hazel. Being with Augustus is both an unexpected destination and a long-needed journey, pushing Hazel to re-examine how sickness and health, life and death, will define her and the legacy that everyone leaves behind.
“It is unlike any book I have read for more than one reason. The Fault in Our Stars told a totally new story, one that I haven’t read before.”

Last but not least in this installment of Stuck for a Book is the AWESOMELY NAMED (ahem) Zoe from Bookhi with her recommended read and latest 5/5 The 5th Wave by Rick Yancey!
After the 1st wave, only darkness remains. After the 2nd, only the lucky escape. And after the 3rd, only the unlucky survive. After the 4th wave, only one rule applies: trust no one.
Now, it’s the dawn of the 5th wave, and on a lonely stretch of highway, Cassie runs from Them. The beings who only look human, who roam the countryside killing anyone they see. Who have scattered Earth’s last survivors. To stay alone is to stay alive, Cassie believes, until she meets Evan Walker. Beguiling and mysterious, Evan Walker may be Cassie’s only hope for rescuing her brother—or even saving herself. But Cassie must choose: between trust and despair, between defiance and surrender, between life and death. To give up or to get up.
“Don’t you just love the feeling when you fall completely and utterly in love with a book? I wasn’t even half away through when I was already certain that The 5th Wave was one my favourite books.”
